The Alpha Communications®/Tektone® VM104 apartment house series monitors are designed to meet virtually any requirement for low-rise and high-rise apartment video-intercom security. These attractive monitors surface mount right onto the wall, by means of a steel backplate (supplied) or over an optional flush steel backbox with plaster ring (IH358 with IH357).

All VM104 monitors feature a crystal clear 3.75" (95mm) black and white flat screen monitor (measured diagonally), electronic tone signaling, 6 foot coiled cord, momentary door release button, monitor activation button, power-on LED, contrast control and amplified Duplex handset, providing simultaneous Talk and Listen functions.

When combined with our vandal-resistant lobby entry stations and model PK314A amplifier (and related accessories), the VM104 monitors are part of a complete building security system.

SPECIFICATIONS

Dimensions:	All VM104 monitors are 8.25"W (210mm) x 7.38"H (187mm) x 2.38"D (60mm).
All dimensions shown are outside dimensions, less the coiled cord.
Handset:	Amplified Duplex Handset with six foot coiled cord.
Finish:	High Impact ABS Plastic, Soft White color with Black Imprinting.
Controls:	Door Release Button, Monitor Button, Contrast Control, Power-On LED, Standby switch.
Video Tube:	3.75" (95mm) Flat Screen Black and White Tube (measured diagonally).
Options:	Model IH358 flush double gang electrical box, used with model IH357 flush mount plaster ring.

ARCHITECTS' AND ENGINEERS' SPECIFICATIONS
The apartment monitor station shall be Alpha Communications®/Tektone® model VM104. Monitor shall be surface mounted (over a model IH358 backbox with IH357 mounting ring). Monitor shall include a high quality 3.75" (95mm) flat screen (measured diagonally). Monitors using mirrors or other non-flat type screens shall not be acceptable. Monitor handset shall feature amplified duplex communication for exceptional voice fidelity. Handsets that include carbon transmitter or other voice technologies shall not be acceptable. Handset shall include a six foot coiled cord. Monitor shall include a door release button, monitor on button, standby switch, power-on LED, contrast control switch and steel backplate connector. Monitor shall be constructed of high impact ABS plastic in a soft white color with black imprint. Monitor shall feature electronic tone signaling from lobby entrance station(s).

REQUIRED COMPONENTS:

PK314A	Amplifier/Power Supply. One required per system up to 50 VM104 monitors. Installs in a separate central equipment location. Requires 16VAC primary power (SS106 or SS250 transformer).
PK311	Auxiliary Power Supply. One required for each additional 80 VM104 monitors. Installs in a separate central equipment location. Requires 16VAC primary power (SS250 transformer).
PK320	4-Port Video Distributor. 1 required for each 4 video risers/lines if there will be more than 1 video riser/line. Each video riser/line requires an RC013 end-of-line resistor.
RC013	75-ohm End-Of-Line Resistor. 1 required for each video riser/line. Installs onto VM104 at end of each video riser/line.
SS106	16VAC Transformer. Used for systems having only one (1) VM104 monitor.

SS250	16VAC Power Transformer. One (1) required to power each PK314A and for each PK311 power supply (for systems with two (2) or more VM104 monitors).
DO-001	(or equivalent) 16VAC Door Release. Lobby Entry Panel (1 per building entry).

OPTIONAL COMPONENTS:

PK417	2-Entrance Adaptor (Both-Video). Used when switching between two (2) video entry panels are required. Used in addition to PK314A power supply.
PK407A	Specialty Relay Adaptor. Used when connecting a door opener other than a 16VAC type to system. One (1) required for each building entry door opener.

WIRING REQUIREMENTS:
Apartment riser wiring shall be 4-common #22AWG, 3-common #18AWG, 1-RG59/U (all copperminimum 95% braid) coaxial cable common and 1 selective wire #22AWG, for each video monitor station connected to the riser cable. See system wiring diagram for more complete wiring information.
