Used with many entry intercom and video-intercom systems, when a different voltage door opener or magnetic lock opener is used instead of a 16VAC door opener.

The Alpha Communications® PK407A specialty relays are used for a variety of reasons. The PK407A can be connected to a standard 16VAC electric door opener output from many intercom amplifiers to allow connection to a magnetic or different type or voltage door opener. It can also be used to provide a 'Form C' relay contact from virtually any 16VAC input source. The PK407A can even be powered directly from a 16VAC transformer. As long as a 16VAC source is present, the PK407A will engage, providing a normally-open and a normally-closed set of contacts, with a shared 'common' screw terminal. The PK407A relays are designed to easily surface mount right onto the finished wall by means of self-stick mounting tabs or by using the mounting holes provided for screw mounting. Connections are positive screw terminal type, using a barrier type terminal connector strip.

ARCHITECTS' AND ENGINEERS' SPECIFICATIONS
The specialty relay assembly shall be Alpha Communications® PK407A
or equivalent. Relay shall operate from a 16VAC primary voltage source, 
and shall provide a 'Form C' dry contact relay output, as long as the 
16VAC source is present. All wiring to relay shall be low-voltage Class II 
wiring, installed as per all federal, state, and local electrical codes. 
Relay shall surface mount right to the finished wall and shall be 
installed in a suitable environment that is free from excessive dirt, 
dust, temperature, humidity, grease and water.
	

WIRING REQUIREMENTS
Depends upon apartment intercom or video-intercom amplifier being used.
