The PK124 is used with our nurse-call and emergency-call systems, as well as many of our other intercom systems, to provide emergency back-up battery power.

The Alpha Communications®/Tektone PK124 battery charger is used primarily with our nurse-call and emergency-call systems, as well as other intercom systems to provide battery back-up power to these systems. The PK124 is used in conjunction with two (2) of our model BA001 12VDC batteries, and provides for continuous battery charging, in the event of a power failure. Standby operating power is provided for up to six (6) hours. NOTE: TIME MAY VARY DEPENDING UPON SYSTEM SIZE, TYPE, and NUMBER OF DEVICES BEING POWERED. The PK124 operates on 24VAC (30VA) low-voltage Class II wiring, using our model #SS106 transformer. All PK124 connections are positive screw terminal type. NOTE: The installer must provide a 4 Amp Fuse in series with the BA001 battery connections (as per wiring diagram).

ARCHITECTS' AND ENGINEERS' SPECIFICATIONS
The battery charger unit shall be Alpha Communications®/Tektone model PK124, or approved
equal, and shall provide continuous battery charging of the model BA001 batteries. Unit shall
provide back-up (emergency) power to the intercom (or other) system, in the event of a power
failure. Low voltage wiring shall be used and positive screw terminals shall be provided for
installation wiring. The PK124 shall be mountable right to the surface of the wall or in the
optional model IH151N U.L.® Listed junction box cabinet. Contractor shall observe all local
electrical codes.

REQUIRED COMPONENTS
SS106 16/24VAC PIGTAIL TRANSFORMER. One (1) required to power each PK124.
BA001 12VDC GELL CELL BATTERY. One (1) or two (2) required for each PK124, depending
upon the system in which they are being used. See system wiring diagram for qty. of
BA001 batteries needed, for your specific system. Requires a customer supplied 4-Amp
fuse to be installed inline.

OPTIONAL COMPONENTS
IH151N U.L.® Listed steel junction box cabinet, in a painted Beige finish. Used to house and
protect the PK124 and its wiring connections.
