Indoor Remote with momen. Door Release Button. Used on Tek-Com Intercom and Tek-Sound Music-Intercom systems. Has built-in slide type volume control switch.

The Alpha Communications®/Tektone IR704BD indoor remotes are designed to work with the PK724 (Tek-Com) system amplifier or the 'EK' series music-intercom masters. They can be flush, surface or desk mounted, with the appropriate back box/housing. The IR704BD indoor remotes have four (4) buttons for Indoor Call, Monitoring, Door Answering and Electric Door Release from any IR704BD station. A high/low/off 3-position volume slide switch is standard. No other IR704BD station can eavesdrop on another IR704BD station, unless the Inside Speaker or Monitor button is depressed. Any IR704BD can call all of the other IR704BD's. Any IR704BD (in monitor position) can be monitored by all of the other IR704BD's, and any IR704BD can answer a voice call from a door remote station, and electrically release the electric door opener.

The IR704BD remotes are 6-wire type and must be used with a good quality 2-twisted pair typecable (with at least 10-12 twists per foot) and a separate 2-conductor #18AWG wire for the door release circuit. The wire may be solid or stranded type. A maximum of 18 IR704BD stations can be connected to a single PK724 amplifier.

ARCHITECTS' AND ENGINEERS' SPECIFICATIONS
Remote intercom/music station(s) shall be Alpha Communications®/Tektone model IR704BD or approved equal. Station faceplate shall be high-impact ABS plastic in a White finish. Four (4) push-button switches shall be provided for Inside Call, Monitoring, Door Answering and Electric Door Release functions. The Monitor button shall be of the locking type. A three-position slide type volume control switch shall be provided. The speaker/microphone shall be a 3.50" (89mm) paper cone, high-sensitivity type with excellent voice/music frequency response. Screw terminals shall be provided for wiring terminations.

REQUIRED COMPONENTS:

S1	Screwdriver (for system installation/maintenance).
IR704BD	Inside remote station(s). Up to 18 total may be used per system.
PK724	Tek-Com system amplifier. One (1) required per system, or the 'EK' series AM/FM music/intercom master station. Each PK724 or 'EK' master requires the SS102A or SS105B 16VAC transformer.
DO-001	16VAC Electric Door opener (or equivalent 16VAC door opener).

OPTIONAL COMPONENTS:
DOOR REMOTE STATION(S): Maximum (2) per system. Voice operation will be parallel type operation. Choose from the following types of outdoor remotes: OR601, OR601W, OR603, OR603W, OR604A, OR604AW, OR101, OR501B or OR502SS. WIRING REQUIREMENTS:
Run a 2-twisted pair #22AWG cable from IR704BD to IR704BD, and then back to the PK724 amplifier (or 'EK' series master station). If there is one(1) IR704BD on a run you may run up to 600 feet (180m). If there are two (2) IR704BD stations on a run, you may run up to 300 feet (90m). If there are three (3) IR704BD stations on a run, you may run up to 160 feet (50m). If there are four (4) IR704BD stations on a run, you may run up to 80 feet (25m). Each system can have no more than four (4) intercom wire runs. If there are more than 10 stations installed on the system, only 10 may be turned **fully** on at one time.

Run a 2-conductor #18AWG cable from IR704BD to IR704BD, and then back to the PK724 amplifier (or 'EK' music master), for the door release function. Run a 2-conductor #18AWG cable from the 16VAC door opener, back to the PK724 amplifier (or 'EK' music master).

Run a two (2) conductor #22AWG from each door station without any call buttons, back to the PK724 amplifier (or 'EK' music master). Run a three (3) conductor #22AWG from each door station with a non-lighted call button, back to the PK724 amplifier (or 'EK' music master). Run a four (4) conductor #22AWG from each door station with a lighted call button, back to the PK724 amplifier (or 'EK' music master).
