The DO-114 electric door opener is our smallest mortise door opener and is used primarily in hollow steel door frames and in some hollow aluminum door frames.

The Alpha Communications® DO-114 electric door opener is our smallest mortise type door opener that is designed to be used mostly in hollow steel door frames. Under certain circumstances, the DO-114 can be used in hollow aluminum or wooden door frames. The DO-114 can be used in right-handed or left-handed installations, simply by turning the door opener upside down, during installation. When used with an 8-16VAC input, the DO-114 makes a buzzing sound, when activated. When used with a 3-6VDC input, the DO-114 activates silently. NOTE: Many options are available for the DO-114 door opener, including different voltages (AC and DC) and different finishes. ARCHITECTS' AND ENGINEERS' SPECIFICATIONS
The electric door opener shall be Alpha Communications® model DO-114 or equal. Door opener
shall be mortise type, reversible, for use in a standard hollow metal (or some hollow aluminum
doors). Door opener shall operate on 8-16VAC for buzzing operation, or 3-6VDC for silent oper-
ation. Door opener shall be non fail-safe type, and shall be provided with positive screw terminal
connections.



WIRING REQUIREMENTS
Run a 2-conductor #18AWG cable from the DO-114 door opener, back to the door opener power
source connection (for runs up to 50 feet). Run a 2-conductor #16AWG cable from the DO-114
door opener, back to the door opener power source connection (for runs up to 150 feet).
