The 851/001 series intercom allows for up to 40 master handsets to selectively call and speak with each other and a maximum of four (4) simultaneous conversations.

The Alpha Communications®/Elvox™ 851/001 series intercom system is a digital encoding/decoding multiple conversation system for up to 40 master stations. Each model 851/001 master handset can call up to 39 other masters, by means of easy, two digit pushbutton calling. Up to four (4) completely private conversations can take place at one time. Duplex voice switching eliminates background noises. Because the encoding is digital, each unit is a master, thus eliminating the need of a centralized exchange unit, making this system easy to install and very cost effective. Additional masters can be added at any time without the need for any additional power supplies or central equipment, or adaptors. Station numbers are assigned by means of programming clips. Other features include: paging through a PA system, communication with an outdoor station, electric door release, etc.

All 851/001 master stations have calling buttons numbered 1 through 10 and A through D. In addition, a paging and door release button is standard. Calling to another master is accomplished by depressing a letter (A-D) and a number (1-10), for a total of 40 possible combinations. The model 851/001 master is designed to mount right on the surface of the finished wall, or can be desk mounted with an optional model 2/805 desk adaptor.

A wide variety of remote stations is available in ABS plastic, extruded aluminum, stainless steel, polished brass and painted finishes.

ARCHITECTS' AND ENGINEERS' SPECIFICATIONS
The intercom system shall be Alpha Communications®/Elvox™ 851/001 series, or approved equal. Master stations shall be model 851/001 and shall be surface mount (or desk mount) and shall include call buttons numbered 1-10 and lettered A-D, a door release push button and a paging button. System shall be powered directly by the 120VAC wall outlet, using model 856/800 power supply (for master to master intercom only) or model 857/800 paging power supply (if any paging or door speaker options are used). Outdoor remote stations shall be the model 2900/001 (flush) or model 2970/001 (surface) type (with 930/000 speaker/microphone installed). Contractor shall observe all local and national electrical codes.

REQUIRED COMPONENTS:

851/001	MASTER STATION-40 CALL. Up to 40 per system. Beige/Brown ABS plastic finish. Mounts directly on surface of finished wall. Can be desk mounted with optional model 2/805 desk adaptor.
856/800	SYSTEM POWER SUPPLY. One (1) required for systems with master to master communication only. If the PA paging, or door speaker or electric door release options are used, you must use the model 857/800 power supply instead of the model 856/800 power supply. Operates on 120VAC.

857/800	SYSTEM PAGING POWER SUPPLY. One (1) required for systems if any of the PA paging, or door speaker or electric door release options are used. Operates on 120VAC.

OPTIONAL COMPONENTS:

2900/001	OUTDOOR REMOTE. Nat. Aluminum finish. Flush mounts into wall. With built-in CALL button. Comes with flush back box included. Requires model 930/000 speaker/microphone (which is field installed by the contractor).

930/000	SPEAKER/MICROPHONE. Installs into either the 2900/001 or 2970/001 door station. This unit is field installed by the contractor.
NOTE: When PA paging is utilized on system, you must add the appropriate paging speakers, and the required (separate) PA amplifier. Contact our sales dept. for more information on this option.

WIRING REQUIREMENTS:
From master to master, run an 8-conductor #22AWG cable (non shielded/non twisted), up to 1,500 feet, when using the 856/800 power supply. If using the 857/800 paging power supply, add 2-conductors #22AWG to above wiring, for a total of 10-conductor #22AWG between the master stations.
