The Alpha Communications®/Florence 1500 Series horizontal mail boxes are designed to be used in residential or commercial applications, requiring mail boxes that will be loaded from there are and where mail will be removed from the front. Made of heavy-gauge aluminum, to meet or exceed postal regulations, these boxes are made to last long, and to look good. The 1500 series mail boxes are available in sizes of 15 compartments (5 high x 3 wide) to 35 compartments (7 high by 5 wide), and meet all of the latest requirements of the USPS publication 17. A removeable rear cover is provided to protect mail, once it has been inserted. Each mail box door features permanently engraved door markings (or number tab window) and a 5-pin cam type lock provided with two (2) keys each. A convenient 'snap-on' matching aluminum trim, is provided with each mail box order, to complete your installation. Each standard size 'A" compartment door is 5.0"H (239mm) x 6.38"W (162mm) for large mail receiving capacity. All 1500 series mail boxes can be made with double height, double width or double height/double width doors, for larger mail receiving requirements. For buildings with 15 or more mail receiving tenants, the Post Office requires that you install an alphabetical directory unit adjacent to these mail boxes. Also, when the mail boxes are installed behind a locked vestibule or entry door, the Post Office requires that you supply a key keeper, so the postal carrier can gain access to the mail boxes, without the need to be 'buzzed in' by a tenant.
